Lily's Ball

One sunny morning, a curiouslittle girl named Lily went to the park. She saw her friend Tim there too. They wanted to play with a ball. Lily said, “Tim, can you throw the ball?” Tim threw the ball high in the sky.

The ball fell down and hit a big rock. Under the rock was a broken vine next to Lily’s ball. “Oh no!” said Lily. She felt sad for Tim.

But then, she had an idea. “Let’s play with both balls together!” So they played happily in the park all day long. One sunny day, Tom and his dog, Spot, went to the beach to play. They liked to play with a big red ball that was very expensive.

The price of the ball made them both very happy. Tom threw the ball high in the sky. But it did not come back down. He looked up and saw a bird in the sky.

Tom thought his dog would be stuck in a tree, but Spot could not do that either. They tried to jump and reach, but they still couldn’t. Then, something unexpected happened. The big red ball started to bounce very high!
