Tim's Ball
On top of a hill, there was abig house. In the house lived a boy named Tim and his mom. Tim loved to play with his ball in the yard.
One day, he saw his friend Sam playing with his ball too. Tim felt jealous because Sam had many balls. Tim went outside to play with Sam and his ball. They played catch and had lots of fun.
While they were playing, a big wind came and took their ball away. Tim was sad and said, “Mom, I miss my ball.” Mom said, “Don’t worry, let’s try again tomorrow.” The next day, it was very cold. The wind blew the red ball high into the sky.
Tim saw that his ball was stuck in a tree! He had an idea. He took a long string and tied it to the ball.
Then, he pulled on the string and the ball fell out of the tree. Tim was so happy to have his ball back. He said, “Thank you, Sam!” But then, something unexpected happened. The wind blew again, and Tim’s ball was back in the tree!
It was a trick! Tim laughed and hugged Sam.
